Overview

Our Club Basketball program at Shepherd Sports is made up of teams ranging in ages from 8-14. Our teams train and compete at a high level within the AAU circuit and local competitive leagues and tournaments. We put great emphasis on building every player with Godly character while teaching them the fundamentals and competitive skills of basketball. We hold tryouts twice yearly... once in the Spring and once in the Fall. The tryout process is Free, but we ask every player to register before showing up. 

Fall/Winter Season Tryouts - 2024/5

REGISTRATIONS OPEN - AUGUST 1

- Date/s - Sept 3rd & 5th

- Location - Shepherd Gym

- Cost - No Cost (All participants must pre-register before the tryouts)

- All current club players will age up this fall (Ex. a current 10u player will become an 11u player )

Age & Times - September 3rd

4:15pm - 5:30pm
 9u = (An athlete can be no older than 9 on or before August 31, 2025)
10u = (An athlete can be no older than 10 on or before August 31, 2025)

5:45pm - 7:00pm
11u = (An athlete can be no older than 11 on or before August 31, 2025)
12u = (An athlete can be no older than 12 on or before August 31, 2025)

Age & Times - September 5th

4:15pm - 5:30pm
13u = (An athlete can be no older than 13 on or before August 31, 2025)
14u =(An athlete can be no older than 14 on or before August 31, 2025)

5:45pm - 7:00pm - Girls Tryouts
10U -14U (reference age bracket above)

Second Day of Spring/Summer Tryouts

• All players must attend the first tryout to be invited to the second tryout.
• After the first tryout, you will be notified if you have been selected.
• Once selected, you will be provided with a date & time for your child's second tryout.
• The second tryouts will take place the week following the first tryouts.

Tryouts Details

There are no fees for our tryouts and we're completely open to the public. Parents, please arrive early to sign your player up and get us your proper contact info. We ask that all parents stay for the entire tryout. During this time we will try to answer all your questions. We have 2 tryouts for each age group and we encourage players to attend both sessions, but every player must attend at least one tryout date in order to be considered for a team. We ask that all new families please read the CLUB BASKETBALL PARENT INFORMATION packet during tryouts. This will give you an idea of how our club runs and the emphasis that we put on practice and the spiritual side of our club.
